1 INDICATIONS AND USAGE Tizanidine is a central alpha-2-adrenergic agonist indicated for the management of spasticity. Because of the short duration of therapeutic effect, treatment with tizanidine tablets should be reserved for those daily activities and times when relief of spasticity is most important [see Dosage and Administration (2.1) ] . 16 HOW SUPPLIED/STORAGE AND HANDLING 16.2 Tizanidine Tablets Tizanidine Tablets, USP are available containing 2 mg or 4 mg of tizanidine, USP. The 2 mg tablets are white to off-white round, scored tablets debossed with M over 722 on one side of the tablet and scored on the other side. They are available as follows: NDC 0378-0722-01 bottles of 100 tablets NDC 0378-0722-19 bottles of 150 tablets NDC 0378-0722-05 bottles of 500 tablets The 4 mg tablets are white to off-white round, scored tablets debossed with M over 724 on one side of the tablet and quadrisect scored on the other side. They are available as follows: NDC 0378-0724-01 bottles of 100 tablets NDC 0378-0724-19 bottles of 150 tablets NDC 0378-0724-05 bottles of 500 tablets Store at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F). [See USP Controlled Room Temperature.] Dispense in a tight, light-resistant container as defined in the USP using a child-resistant closure.
